Saul Bass Pitch Video for Bell System Logo Redesign (Video from the AT&T Archives)
If you think of companies like Apple, IBM, or Burger King and their logo, what is one thing you’ll notice? You’ll notice that over the years, they have changed their logo to stay current with the times.
AT&T has released from their archives the pitch video from the 60s by Saul Bass, who was the designer of Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho”. It’s a very interesting video and pitch to AT&T execs and how they need to change their logo to keep up with the times. A few of his ideas have been adopted, I certainly remember the logo Saul Bass pitched as well as the stripes.
